I had the pleasure of seeing a pair of trumeter swans when I visited Montana recently. They are everything you read about them in the book - beautiful, graceful, and a quiet grace as they fly high above. This is a book for all ages. What a lovely story. My favorite part was when Luis beat up the people who were trying to trim Serra's flight feathers. I am 8 years old and read it as part of an activity for my Girl Scout troop. We read Because of Winn Dixie as a troop too. I was the first to read the book and will get a pin for my vest. I still have my fist pin from the other book too. It is fun because after we all read it and all have the pin we will talk about it together. I really enjoyed this book.
